University of Kent Space Society

Trips and Socials

The society is one of the most active on campus with regular meetings every two weeks, with guest speakers that in the past have included members of the ESA (European Space Agency) Casini-Huygens team and members of the NASA Mars rover projects. We also organise socials on campus and off campus, last year travelling to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park as well as bowling trips and pub nights.

The society plans another trip to Europe this year. After the hugely successful trip to the ESA in the Netherlands this year, we plan to go to CERN in Switzerland (some of the photos from ESA are shown here as well as some from the Alton towers and Thorpe Park trip). There will also be the continuation of trips to observatories in the UK and the use of the Faulkes Telescope remotely from Hawaii.
