September 2006

23rd - Rocket day Keynes field. Meeting at
2pm at the back of Keynes on the football pitch (weather permitting)

23rd - Introductory social. A relaxed drinks evening, with the chance to meet the current Space Society committee and meet some new people. Meeting at Origins bar in Darwin at 8pm.

26th -Space Society first meeting 8pm ELT2 (Eliot Lecture theatre), tour of domes, welcome talk, welcome to rocketry talk.

 

October 2006

 

1st - Rocket launching Keynes field. Lego man parachute competition day, meet 12pm Keynes Field

10th - Space Society 2nd meeting 8pm ELT2. Guest Speaker.

11th -Live observing from Hawaii, 2pm Room 101 on the 2nd floor in Physics department.

14st - Social to Thorpe Park (not the 21st as is stated in leaflet!).
19th - On Campus social "Ministry of Silly Hats 3" (MOSH3), silly hats are a must! Meeting in Origins Bar at 7.30pm

24th - ELT2 8pm Space Soc Meeting
28th - !!POSTPONED!!Rocket building, designing and launching day. Meet Keynes field
12pm.

3rd -**Update** Rearranged Rocket Building afternoon, 2pm to 5pm rm110 Ingram Building.
7th -Guest Speaker, Professor Michael Smith "Are we alone in the Universe?",8pm ELT2

21st - Space Soc Ashford Bowling Night, meet at Canterbury West Station at 7pm.
24th- Free members observing BBQ 7pm meet at the Domes
25th - **!!Postponed due to high winds on UKC campus!!**Keynes Field Rocket Day, 2pm meet in the fields.
30th - "Seach for the Holy Pint" social, a Monty Python themed night, come dressed as knights and search campus for the mysterious Holy Pint. 7.30pm meet in Origins Bar, Darwin College.
28th - Space Society committee elections nominations open, all positions open:

3rd - Telescope and BBQ night to watch the total lunar eclipse. Starting at around 9:00pm, meeting at Woodys. The lunar eclipse is at 11:30 so we shall play around with the telescopes for a while and eat food. The weather forecast is looking good, but assume that if it is raining at 9:00 then it is most likely cancelled! If you have facebook, please join
this group so we have a rough idea of who is coming! 

9th - MOSH 4.5, meet at Origins at 7:00pm sporting a silly hat. Prize for the silliest hat!

All members must register with Kent Union as well as Space Soc, sorry guys new rules!

Its 3 pounds for the whole year to join Space Soc, thats it and you get access to everything!!! You do not need to pay to register online to join, select CASH on the union website if you have already paid!!!!

If you have not paid yet you can pay at one of our meetings or online at the Union. Note all members must bring their receipt to a member of the committee as proof of payment!!
